Theda Beth Rich Morrow, 76, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away on April 2, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on May 25, 1948, in Denison, Texas, Theda was an avid reader, a gifted teacher, and a lover of music.
After graduating in 1966 from Ryder High School in Wichita Falls, Texas, Theda attended Midwestern State University, then North Texas State University (now University of North Texas). She graduated in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in speech and language pathology. For over thirty years, she was a speech pathologist in public schools, primarily in elementary schools.
Theda married her best friend, Glenn Morrow, in 1970, and after Glenn’s service in the Army, the couple moved to Arlington, Texas, in 1973. They began attending Lake Arlington Baptist Church in 1978, where Theda used her gifts for God’s glory and purpose, while developing life-long friendships. She sang in the adult choir, played in the handbell choir, and taught kindergarten choir for thirty years. She pioneered a program for children with special needs, to make a way for them to learn about Jesus. She spent summers in Vacation Bible School and Mother’s Day Out programs for those same children, whom she loved dearly.
Theda is remembered for her infectious laugh, her funny faces, and her sharp wit. She almost never lost a game of Trivial Pursuit, could read five mystery novels in a week, and had an uncanny knack for solving mystery TV shows before the end (and understanding perfectly the British accents). As the keeper of family lore, Theda loved to tell stories about her family, going back generations, and loved to add new stories about her children and grandchildren. She put her faith in Jesus as a child, and that faith sustained her through breast cancer, a heart transplant and kidney failure. To the end, Theda lived with joy and humor, walking in God’s grace and mercy until He welcomed her Home.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Glenn Morrow; her son, Adam Morrow, his wife Casey, and their children Ben and Ellie; her daughter, Heather Lytle, her husband Greg, and their son, Jack; her “adopted” son, Michael Hale, his wife Tracy, and their children, Emma, Ethan, Gage, Sophie, Luke, Myla and Ruby; her sister, Carla Dooley; three nephews; three nieces; four brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.
A visitation for Theda will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 S Bowen Road, Arlington, Texas 76016. A Celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 1:30PM at Lake Church, 2912 Little Road Arlington, Texas 76016.
