Vanessa Nell Johnson was born February 25, 1958 to JoAlice and John Johnson. She was educated within the Fort Worth ISD school system and graduated from O.D Wyatt in 1975. After graduation, she studied at Tarrant County College and went on to start her professional career with General Motors.
During this time, she met Willie Clayton and to their union was born one daughter, Veronica Clayton. Vanessa continued her career at General Motors until she retired in 2008. After retirement, she spent much time with family and friends. Vanessa was preceded in death by her mother, JoAlice Johnson, but she leaves to cherish her memories; her father, John L Johnson, her daughter, Veronica Dawn (Kennis), one granddaughter,whom she adored, Madison Williams-Dawn, and two brothers, Gary and Bobby Johnson. As well as a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral service for Vanessa will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016.
Vanessa will be laid to rest in Cedar Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Arlington, TX.
