We are so sorry to hear of Walter's death. John just found this tonight. He and Walter were best friends is college. He was the best man in our wedding 58 years ago. We had lost touch with him, but talked about him often. We live in Florence, SC. Our address is 3041 Pointe Dr. Florence, SC 29501. My email address is May the Lord be with his family. My sympathy, especially to Doris and Jeanette. Walter and I were in the Brownwood High School band together and he was always a very special person to all that knew him.

Doris, I am so sorry for your loss. Walter was a special man. We worked together in the 70's and early 80's and even played a little golf together. He will certainly be missed by all who knew him.

God Bless your family

Mike and I will miss Walter's inviting smile and the many conversaations outside on the lawn...not to mention the many, many times he rounded up my loose dogs and brought them back to the safety of our yard and made sure the gate was securely closed. No better neighbor nor kinder friend. Rest in peace, Walter.

Walter was my neighbor and good friend. I will miss our front yard conversations. Walter was very wise and his perspective on life was true and honest. I believe Walter's friendship and positive influence has made me a better person and I'm thankful. Most importantly, Walter loved my Wife and two daughters and always made a point of visiting anytime he had a chance. We are so thankful to have had Walter in our life and he will be missed.
