Homer was born December 11, 1925 in Handley, TX. He graduated from Dublin High School in 1943 and enlisted in the Army Air Core in 1944. Homer was introduced to the love of his life, Doris Gwenita “Gwen” Todd, by his sister Margaret in 1946. 3 months later on September 6, 1946, they married and lived together 59 years in Fort Worth, TX until Gwen’s death on April 13, 2005. Homer went to work for Texas Electric in 1946 and retired after 42 years of loyal employment.
Homer was “superman” to his family and friends. He was a man who would conquer any task or project. He demonstrated this by building his family a ski boat for family fun at Lake Arlington, building a lake house in Granbury, and the list goes on and on. Homer loved his family and friends unconditionally. He honored his family by being the man he was, a walking billboard for always doing the right thing and treating everybody with love and respect.
Homer loved the Lord and forever strived to be a good servant. He left his footprint on this Earth and will be a guardian angel to all who loved and knew him. A million tears may fall, a million smiles to follow for this man we all adored.
