Gregory Sherwood, beloved disciple of love and purveyor of peace, passed away on October 31, 2025, at the age of seventy-nine. Born February 23, 1946, he lived a life surrendered to love like Jesus, embodying his roles as a loving husband, tender father, goofy grandpa, worshiper priest, musician, educator, scholar, soldier, eagle scout, pastor, shepherd, and playful friend. Gregory served during the Vietnam War with courage and grace, carrying his faith into every battle. His music lifted hearts, his teaching inspired minds, and his laughter brightened lives. As a pastor and shepherd, he guided his flock with unwavering devotion, always sharing joy and wisdom. To his family, he was the heart of every gathering-a husband who cherished his wife, a dad who nurtured with endless patience, and a grandpa whose playful antics made grandkids giggle. Gregory's legacy of love and peace will forever echo in those he touched. He'll be deeply missed but never forgotten, resting in the arms of the love he lived for.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Sherwood; son, Matthew and his wife Grace; daughter, Anna and her husband Matthew; step-daughter, Kacey and her husband Stephen; step-son, Shane and his wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Gavin, Evan, Caleb, Collin, Luke, Holly, Charlotte, Joseph, and Hannah
A celebration of life service for William will be held Friday, November 7, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Prayer Mountain / Mountain Creek Community Church, 5950 Eagle Ford Dr, Dallas, TX 75249.
