

On May 11, 2023, Alberto C. Bueno passed away in Fairfax, Virginia, from complications of Alzheimer's. He is survived by his four children: Rev. Alberto F. Bueno, TOR, Eduardo Bueno (wife, Venetta), Maria Bueno-Minnick (husband, Woodrow), Rafael Bueno (spouse, Milton); four grandchildren: Carlos Cervantes, Jr., Nathaniel Bueno, Maria Cristina Cervantes, and Kevin Bueno.
Alberto was born in Havana, Cuba, in November 1931, youngest son of Salvador Bueno and Clara Menéndez. He worked at his father’s barbershop, “El Salón Inglaterra’”in Havana. He married the love of his life, Rosario, in 1954. As a result of the Cuban Revolution, they emigrated with their two young sons to Miami, Florida, in 1963. After the birth of their daughter, they settled in Falls Church, VA, where his youngest son was born.
Alberto and his wife were involved in the Cursillos de Cristiandad, first in the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., and then expanding into Northern Virginia. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus; a past Grand Knight and the founding Grand Knight of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Council in Falls Church. He was past Faithful Navigator of the Father Malloy 4th degree Assembly (1987-88). He worked as a barber in various shops in Northern Virginia and fully retired in 2009.
The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 19, 2023, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 7401 St. Michael’s Lane, Annandale, Virginia 22003, with burial to follow at Fairfax Memorial Park, 9900 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA 22032. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org/).
