I am writing this on the day Aunt Anne is being laid to rest at Arlington National. Because we couldn't make the trip up from Florida, visiting this website today seemed like a good way to be with Aunt Anne, and with the family, in spirit. 

As I read the messages in this Guest Book, and view the wonderful photos, my mind is flooded with memories of Anne and Uncle John dating back to the 1970's...roast beef dinners with Grandma on Morgan Street, family get-togethers in Camp Springs and on Cavalier Corridor, the terrific gathering in Colorado Springs with Aunt Blanche and her family...The list could go on, but I recall with special fondness the times when my family visited John and Anne at their place on Fairfax Drive, often on our way back home from the Rowan family reunions at Rehoboth Beach. Anne and John loved having the company of our friendly yellow Lab, Buddy, and there was always so much love and laughter on those sunlit afternoons that I know Robin, Rachel and I will carry the memories in our hearts forever.  

Aunt Anne was a person of incredible intellect and wonderful wit, and a loving and devoted member of our family. I feel so very fortunate to have had her in my life.

As Anne's Personal Stylist for many of her latter years, I was blessed to know this beautiful woman. Anne exuded grace, humility, dignity and love. She was so dear to my heart and will truly be missed!

I'm so happy Anne was in my life. She was a great sister-in-law. May she rest in peace.

Aunt Anne and Uncle John were both so good at making us feel cherished.  I will remember Anne especially for her high standards.  She loved reading historical biographies of accomplished people, beautiful art, great music, and wonderful food.  She was took great joy in entertaining and relishing life with family and friends.  Thank you, Aunt Anne, for all your deep love for us.

Aunt Anne and Uncle John made us feel cherished, and they encouraged us to reach for the best in life.  I will remember Anne's high standards.  She loved good historical biographies, great art, good music, and wonderful food, especially food enjoyed with family and friends.  And, she loved adorable children and animals.  Thank you, Aunt Anne, for being so good to us.  May you, Uncle John, and all the departed family find peace and happiness together.

Dear Anne:  You always made me feel truly valued.  You were a model of strength, discretion, grace and lively spirits.  I feel honored that you joined the Rowan family, and it warms me to know that you felt embraced by our family.  Rest in peace, dear Anne.  Love always, Alice
