I want to express my deepest condolences to the Gomez/Faz family. I just read of Tony's passing. I am so very very sorry. I am happy that your family was able to have happy times together and pray that God helps you through this difficult time.

Such a good man. I primarily interacted with him when we were in HEPAC together and when we ran into each other in the hallways, but he was a kind and thoughtful person. Mi más sentido pésame. 🙏

I was deeply saddened to hear of Tony Gomez’s passing. I had the privilege of working with Tony in the same division and on similar projects for many years, and his loss is truly felt. He was a genuinely kind, thoughtful, and very human person—always respectful, approachable, and a pleasure to work with. Tony will be greatly missed, and my thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him.

I was fortunate to have known Tony as a colleague in the final year before he retired. He told me that the most unnerving prospect in retiring was the thought of suddenly not being gainfully employed after being employed continuously since he was 14 years old. He told me of his hopes to put together a garage where he could work on cars in his retirement. He was a delight to know and a wonderful source of knowledge about his passions including the barbecue cuisine of Laredo. The world lost him much too soon. Rest in peace Tony.

I worked with Tony at the U S. NRC He and I had similar work schedules so we would catch up with one another either in the mornings or afternoons. We always had pleasant conversations, at least until I started talking bad about his beloved Cowboys. LOL. I'm gonna miss you buddy. My prayers go out to his family for our Good Lord's blessing of comfort and guidance during this time.

To the Family of Tony: I am so sorry for your loss. I met Tony around FY 2016 at the NRC while working on rulemakings together. I found him to be very kind and conscientious about his work. He always wanted to do a good job. I pray for his family and friends. I pray that God will comfort your hearts and give you peace.

I’m sorry for your loss.

Tony and I worked together as cost analysts at the NRC before I left for the Department of Energy. While there, we were study partners for the NRC Cost Qualification, and that collaboration was a big help to both of us in passing our exams. I appreciated his support and collegiality during that time.

I also remember him as a great source of restaurant recommendations in Texas whenever I was there for Army Reserve training. Those small kindnesses spoke to the kind of person he was.

To Tony’s family, please accept my deepest condolences. He will be remembered.

I had the privilege of hiring Tony to the NRC in July 2015 as a cost analyst in the rulemaking group, and from the very beginning it was clear that he brought far more than technical skill to the organization. He approached every assignment with a work ethic that was thoughtful and infused with a sense of pride and ownership.

What I will always remember most, though, is the enthusiasm he brought to our workplace. He was deeply engaged in the NRC Hispanic Committee, contributing his time, energy, and spirit to its activities. He was equally present in the day‑to‑day life of the office—celebrations, gatherings, and the small moments that make a team feel like a community. His love of all things Texas was legendary, and he delighted in sharing that part of himself with his colleagues. Texas Independence Day became an annual event in our group because he made it joyful, inclusive, and fun.

He was a person defined by kindness and generosity. If someone needed help—whether with a technical question, a tight deadline, a word of encouragement, or setting up for or cleanup after a celebration—he was there without hesitation.

He carried immense pride in his Air Force service, and he often spoke with affection about his time stationed in Germany. Those stories were never boastful; they were reflections of experiences and values that shaped him—service, discipline, and camaraderie.

I am grateful to have known him, to have worked alongside him, and to have witnessed the positive impact he had on so many people. His absence will be felt deeply, but his memory will remain a source of warmth and inspiration.

To his family and friends, please accept my sincere condolences. May you find comfort in knowing how much he meant to those of us who had the honor of knowing and working with him.

I worked with Tony as part of the Hispanic Employment Program Advisory Committee which was a resource for Hispanics at the NRC. He was always dedicated to serving his community. My deepest condolences to his family.

I worked with Tony at the NRC only for a short time, but I'm grateful to have known him. He was a kind man, generous with his time, and enthusiastic about his work. My sincere condolences to his family - may happy memories of Tony lift your spirits.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Gomez. His unwavering commitment to our community and his service to our country will always be remembered and honored.

I worked with Tony at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. He was a Cost Analyst for a transportation-related rulemaking the agency was focused on. Tony put a lot of pride and ownership in his work, and that helped to move this major project along. My condolences to his family for your loss.

You are a much loved brother. You experienced a lot of suffering in your lifetime. But you are now a n Angel that will look after us. I wasn’t able to say goodbye to you before Our Lord Jesus called you home. I will miss you very much Toño but I will remember all the good memories I have of you when we were growing up in Laredo, Texas.
