Mr. Benjamin L. Sims III

The youngest of three children, he was raised in Arlington VA. He is preceded in death by his wife R. Marie Sims (Wolf) of Zeeland ND, His Sister Doris Sims Atterbury and brother Gordon Sims.

He survived by his son Benjamin L Sims IV (Teresa), and his daughter Barbara Sims. He is also survived by two grandchildren Sara Sims Valentine (Nick), Lauren Sims Krzywicki (Joe) and one great granddaughter Wyatt Joan Krzywicki. And many nieces and nephews.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army as a medic. He received a purple Heart at the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium.

He spent his career as an engineer with the Arlington County Water Division, retiring in 1981.

He was a life member of the American Legion Post 139 and past Commander. He was a Charter member and past president of the Old Dominion Rod and Gun Club, A life member of the NRA. A member of the NSSA and a Charter Member and past Director of the Greene County Historical Society of Virginia.

Some of his interests included family tree research, antique gun collecting and smithing, hunting, American history and he was a ferocious reader.

Services and burial to be established once arrangements have been made with Arlington National Cemetery.
