Bridget Philomena Vea

Dear wife of the late Theodore "Ted" Howe Vea. Loving mother of Edmond (Cristina), Lucile (Raymond), and James (Amanda). Grandmother to Chiara, Brynn, Calli and Aria. Sister to Maureen Shine of Dungarvan, Ireland and Michael Quinlan of Perth, Australia. Preceded in death by brothers, Edmond and James.

Born July 9, 1927 in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, Ireland, the daughter of James and Mary Quinlan. She left Ireland to train as a nurse in England. After completing her training, she worked as a midwife before immigrating to New York in 1955. After three years in New York working at Doctor's Hospital, she drove cross country with two friends and settled in San Francisco where she met her future husband, Ted. Married in 1961, Ted accepted a position in the Foreign Service and the family moved to Washington DC. The family lived in Moscow and Hong Kong before settling in Arlington. Among her favorite charities, Phil spent many hours as a volunteer at the Capital Hospice Thrift Shop.
