Carmine Lavieri, 88, passed away on July 10, 2022 in Arlington, Virgina, where he had lived for many years. Born April 7, 1934 in Barkhamsted, Connecticut, son of Carmine & Margaret Nataro Lavieri, he graduated from the University of Miami, and became a Certified Public Accountant. After moving from Connecticut to Virginia in the 1960's, he co-founded Lavieri & Mostow, an accounting firm which served the Washington, DC area.
Carmine was a quiet person, a lover of classical music, photography, puzzles, chess, good food and adventurous wine. These interests were gifts he shared with his family, leaving behind happy memories of spectacular meals and a beautiful collection of wine from many countries. He enjoyed visiting his family and following their travels and activities closely. Carmine rarely missed a Thanksgiving gathering, where he will be sorely missed in years to come. One of Carmine's treasured daily routines were walks and lunches in the parks close to his home, and we know he will be missed there, too.
He is survived by his daughter, Deirdre Lavieri & her husband, Brion Friedman, of Charlottesville, Virginia; two grandchildren, Haines & his fiancee Marissa Kogan, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Reilly, of Fort Collins, Colorado; Anne Hargrett-Lavieri, his former spouse; and three siblings, Edward Lavieri, Frances Lavieri & Cindy Litwin.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations can be made to the NOVA Parks Fund (www.cfnova.org/novaparks-lavieri) which supports the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority, helping it procure, develop, maintain and improve regional parks, recreational and historic facilities with a focus on conservation, preservation and education, or to a charity of your choice.
