Carole Ann Langedijk

Carole Ann (Bunny) Vereka Langedijk, 74, of Arlington, VA, passed into the presence of the Lord on Friday June 26, 2015, at her home following a long illness, with her husband at her side. She was born in Washington, DC, on January 19, 1941, a daughter of the late Frank Richard Vereka and the late Alice M. Vereka.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 36 years, Jacob (Jack) Langedijk, her sister, Margaret Rose (Peggy) Vereka Bailey, of Blue Ridge, VA, and several cousins, friends, and neighbors.

She was valedictorian of her high school and earned a degree in Biology from The George Washington University. She worked for the Department of State for 17 years before retiring early due to the effects of a severe whiplash injury in an automobile accident. She was afflicted throughout her life with many health issues. Her hobbies were attending opera performances at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, reading, playing piano, and enjoying classic movies on TV. Her travels took her to several European countries (The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Austria), and to several east coast states and points west as far as Texas and New Mexico.
