I want to convey my heartfelt condolences on your loss. 
Connie was a valued business associate and a trusted friend, and she was an absolute delight to work with. Her vision, leadership, and collaborative spirit made her the consummate senior executive. 
 
With her entertaining sense of humor, she calmed many challenging situations and made work lively and fun. More importantly, Connie was a wonderful, caring person who took a genuine interest in others. She was always one to reach out and build bridges between people and organizations.
 
Connie made an indelible mark on many of us at Fujitsu Network Communications, and we will miss her.

Connie was a workmate and friend when she was an instructor for several years at the Canadian Forces Fleet School in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Always a smile and always a positive attitude.  Her students loved her as she was a wonderful, energetic and competent instructor.  A professional and a kind lady.
Although recently our contact has been mainly through our annual Christmas card we will always remember our times working together at the Fleet School.
Connie was one of those rare diamonds that we meet during our lives.  We will always have fond memories and she will never be forgotten in our hearts.

The one thing I remember the most about Connie was her dedication to her family. She loved her girls so much, she took take tae kwon do to be able to share something with and spend time with them.

I remember how proud of a mother Connie was to Alex and Lauren. I have taught Alex's dance classes at Perfect Pointe dance studio for over 4 years, and Connie was an attentive and enthusiastic mom. I remember a few years back, she was especially energized by a military sequence in one of our dances (reading through the messages, I see she was a young woman in the military). Connie would ask about Alex's experiences in her classes, and we had conversations about her progress in the bathroom outside the dance studio.  She was easy to talk to, personable, a good human being... I miss her. She was warm, happy, and you just wanted to be around her. Her daughters share that same spark.  In all of my teaching, I've never met a happier and more vibrant girl than her daughter Alex.  We are all going to feel the loss of Connie very much, and I'm praying for the strength of Alex and Lauren to continue her positive legacy. She is alive in our hearts, always.

I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with Connie.  She was an inspirational leader and made sure there was plenty of laughter to go with the hard work.  She has left a lasting impression on all of us that will never fade and I will carry her UTC/UtiliSite banner with me forever.  Her family has been and will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

My deepest sympathies are with Connie's family.  It was a great pleasure to work with Connie through UTC.  She was an extraordinary leader and good friend. She was kind and  warmhearted and will be greatly missed.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of an amazing corporate leader, a devoted wife and mother, and a fabulous friend. In my relatively short time with UTC I feel that I came to know Connie well, primarily because of her warm personality and ability to clearly define her goals and draw out the best in others. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have known her and worked with her. UTC has benefited greatly from her vision and leadership. Most importantly, I've learned that the UTC staff and members of the Board of Directors are really a family, and this is a reflection of Connie's ability to smoothly draw people together. I will always remember Connie as possessing attributes rarely found in one person...she was a visionary, brilliant, driven, warm, funny and direct. It was always a joy to see Connie.  Everyone in our office loved her and looked forward to her visits.  She remains an inspiration as a leader in her field while being devoted to her family.  It is often difficult to to juggle so many roles but Connie did it with grace and a smile.  We will all miss her greatly and our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I always enjoyed dealing with Connie over the years and was very saddened by her passing. I will keep her family in my prayers.

It's hard to put into words how to express all one is feeling. Connie is dearly missed, but her legacy will not be forgotten. Everyone that worked with Connie will miss her for her poise and grace, even during contentious debates.  She was a calm and vivacious light for our industry, but what defined Connie to me was her love of her children.  Her girls were the center of her world.  My prayers are and will continue to be with her husband and her children.  Know that your mother adored you.

Words can't describe the loss of Connie, or the impact she made on family, friends, and the hundreds of professional relationships she has formed.  Connie had a way of building vivid memories that just never fade. Like curling up in the back seat of an economy sized car with her steamer-trunk sized suitcase(s) and a pair of 6 foot 240 pound travel companions up front for a 1200 KM joyride across windy New Zealand mountain roads in the dark of night, on the wrong side of the road. Between stops to witness jaw dropping scenery she shared her wishes and dreams for her beautiful girls, the respect and admiration for her husband, and she listened with genuine interest as Karnel and I shared our own version of life's most important facets, our families back home. I imagine that everyone who knows Connie has a collection of stories that cause eruptions of laughter, a moment of pride, a sense of vision, and a feeling of belonging to a greater purpose. I've seen Connie laugh so hard she very nearly passed out, shed tears of empathy while addressing a group of first responders, and every emotion in between. Thank you David, Alex and Lauren for allowing us the time to share in so many great experiences with Connie. The memories will be with us forever and we all the better for having them.

The telecom industry has lost a great leader, but that is incomparable to the loss of a mother and wife. Our thoughts and prayers are with Connie's family and we send our deepest condolences. It was a pleasure and privilege to have worked with her over the years. Her smile was infectious and her tenacity and hard work unparalleled. It is a rare thing today for a business associate to become a friend and I am honored to have been able to call her my friend.  I will miss her but will never forget her. Peace.

Connie was a neighbor who had a smile that would light up your day.  In all the years that I knew her, I never saw her down but she always greeted me with a greeting that made me feel wonderful.  She will be missed.

Each time you flip a light switch, remember Connie, for her global impact in helping keep the lights on was immense. A leader is someone who will take you where you wouldn't go alone. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Connie's passing.  I knew her a long time ago in the 80's when we were young musicians at MTC Aldershot as members of the Atlantic Area Composite Band.  Connie was a wonderful person, always quick with a kind or funny comment.  I can tell from the other comments and from her facebook pics, that she was a devoted mother, and wife. the best quote i have found of our dear friend Connie Smith Durcsak, was when she first joined PCIA "Connie Durcsak blooms where she is planted".   from when i first met her 32.5 years ago as a fresh faced 17 yr old Private, from Newport Station, playing clarinet in a military band, through to becoming the UTC President and Chairman and being listed as "one of the 15 most influential people in energy".  Connie had the golden touch, it appeared, but she was a hard worker, tenacious in intent and fierce in vocation.  it was no surprise that she would do well in whatever field she undertook, or whatever role she had as daughter, sister, mother, wife and friend.  She was a wonderful, brilliant, kind, clever, funny, loving, loyal soul. 
Connie was a bright star and our world dimmed when we lost her.
