David was born on August 23, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Burton Dwight Loken and Anita (Nelson) Loken and was raised in Park Ridge, Illinois. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree and his Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
After law school, David moved to the Washington, D.C. area to work for the Federal Trade Commission. He then settled in McLean, Virginia where he worked for several years at U.S. Aircraft Sales and met his wife of 44 years, Suzanne. David went on to set up his own law practice where he specialized in estate planning.
David was an avid bridge player, receiving a Life Master award from the American Contract Bridge League. He was also a dedicated coin collector and found joy in discussing his collection with his children and grandchildren. David loved spending time with his wife and family, and particularly enjoyed going out to local restaurants in McLean and hosting cook-outs in the backyard with friends.
David is survived by his wife, Suzanne; his son, Drew Loken (Mathilde) of Montreal, Quebec and his daughter, Jackie Dunklau (A.J.) of Rye, New York; his two grandchildren, Clark and Graham Dunklau; and his brother, James B. Loken (Caroline).
A private memorial service will be held this Saturday.
