To the Tishman family, I knew Dave from when we were fellow law students at Rutgers Law School Newark, from 1966 through 1999.   I remember him as a highly intelligent , soft spoken and yet personally humble person who absolutely loved life.  I had the pleasure of spending many hours with him during our intense law school years reflecting  on current legal and political developments as well as events such as the latest band playing at the Fillmore including his comparisons of any female singer with his Janis Joplin.  He was a good friend, a good student and a wonderful human being.

Please convey my deepest condolences to your family and friends.I was shocked to hear of David's passing. He was a wonderful friend of mine from college in his undergraduate years before law school. In the turbulent times during the Vietnam War, we lost track of each other, but during the last few years we found each other on LinkedIn.The last I knew he was still employed at FERC and quite happy. I very much regret not seeing him before his passing.

He was a great and good man, a friend, and a man I will remember for the rest of my life, for the good times and tough times we shared together.

During my time at college in D.C., Uncle Dave always tried to help me out in every way he could.  Every time he did me a favor, I learned of the true kindness in his heart.  He never wanted me to say thank you, always seemed to get a genuine enjoyment out of helping someone out, and always wanted to talk about the Hoff family in some way. It brightened my day to see Uncle Dave, and that's why so many people in his life will miss him.

Uncle Dave was the most loving and supportive uncle. His example of generosity to others, especially those in need, will remain with us. His love for David, Cathy, and Tim was so evident but he was also there for all of us in the family. We have so many wonderful memoires of Christmas and family gatherings  most of which Uncle Dave captured by video and then created magical films set to music.  We all knew we could call on Uncle Dave for any issue and he would be on it immediately.  Uncle Dave led by example in how to love and how to be there for one another.  He is irreplaceable in our family and I will miss him very much.

Uncle David's kindness and thoughtfulness were ever-present. His speech at my cousin Cathy's wedding was one of the most heartfelt things I've ever heard.

Jim and I are so very sorry to hear that David has died. What a wonderful storyteller and kind soul he was! You are in our thoughts and prayers Nancy, as are your children, during this very sad time. We will always remember you and will continue to pray for you in the days to come...

Hugh and I were so very sorry to hear of the loss of this wonderful man.  I met Dave in 1983, when I first started working at FERC.  He made me feel so welcome and he was always available to answer a new attorney's questions.  It's hard to imagine the world without Dave in it. I am so sorry for your loss. Dave and I worked together at FERC for longer than I want to remember. He was a great lawyer and such a nice guy. We shared an interest in tech and David would always stop by to show or talk about his latest Apple or Amazon device. I am so sorry for your loss.  You are in my prayers.

I feel so lucky to have worked with Dave on ACE's Climate Action Group. He was dedicated to making his community and his world a better place - and he succeeded.

I was in the same section as Dave when I started at FERC in 1989.  Dave was a great friend and colleague.  He was enthusiastic about and committed to everything he did.  I am going to miss having lunch with him and walking by his office in the morning and having him pop out of his chair with the latest political or technology  news.  He was a walking encyclopedia of 1960s music and culture.  If I had to sum up Dave in one word it would be the Yiddish word "mensch," a person of integrity and honor.

Only met David recently when I joined the ACE board, but it saddens me that he's no longer with us. His enthusiasm, intellect and humor impressed me in the short time I had the privilege to know him.

I had the pleasure of knowing Dave only through our mutual love for baseball, in general, and the Nats in particular.  I knew that if the Nats had a bad game, Dave would have the chapter and verse on how Matt Williams should have made different decisions.  He told me stories of growing up in New York and going to ball games with his dad.  We also discovered during a wide ranging chat that began with the Nats' latest game that we both loved to go to a little breakfast cafe in Arlington, Linda's.  I enjoyed hearing all the details of his daughter's wedding, and I know that was a thrill of a lifetime for him.  He shared the wedding pictures with me, and it certainly appeared to be a lovely affair.   It's interesting to learn of Dave's interest in the rights of the disabled.  I don't find it a bit surprising.  Dave always struck me as having a passion for the underdog.  I haven't been able to enjoy the Nats' great season, because I retired in December and haven't seen Dave.  My thoughts and prayers are with Nancy and his family.

I have known David since our California days in the early 1970s, and we have enjoyed many family occasions together since then.  We had a great deal in common, including our love of new technologies, the Beach Boys, and, of course, the Hoff family.  He was a great husband and father to his family, and he will be sorely missed by us all.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Nancy, David, Jr., Cathy and Tim.

So sorry to hear of Dave's passing.  I got to know him through Greener FERC at the Commission.  He was kind, amusing, and committed to protecting the environment.  He will be missed.

My Uncle Dave was one of the kindest and noblest men I have ever known. He and my Aunt Nancy's fierce advocacy for social justice has had an enormous impact on my life and values. I still cannot believe his sudden passing--it is a true tragedy. I will never forget his face walking my cousin Cathy walk down the aisle. I have never seen someone so proud or filled with love. He is truly missed, and my love and prayers are with you all.

I'm truly sadden of the sad news of my friend Dave. We always share our stories of our trip to Costco where I always run into him with his daughter. Dave was kind and sweet person. Being Security here at FERC for 10 years, Dave always spoke to me every time he saw me at work. I was so thank for my baby shower gift he gave me. I'm so happy Dave got a chance to meet one of my twins last week. Dave will be truly missed and will miss talking to him every day at work.  My heart and prayers to the family.

Nancy, I am so sorry for your loss. You and David were the perfect "partners in crime" when it came to advocating for the underdog.  When I think David and Nancy Tishman I think HEROES in my personal life and in the lives of the many more people you have impacted through your thoughful, positive energy and love. David is gone physically,  but lives on in everyone he touched, one relationship at a time. Please let me know of I can be of any help to you and your family.

I love Dave Tishman.  He sincerely cared about everyone he knew and was especially concerned for those who faced the greatest challenges in life.  Dave was also a terrifically interesting guy who knew so much about so many different subjects.  I will miss Dave's laugh and warmth.  Dave was tremendously loyal to his friends and would do anything he could for anyone.  Most importantly Dave adored and was so proud of his family.  Dave will live on through his positive effect on everyone he touched.

David is a great man. He lives on in everyone he touched.

I am so saddened by Dave's death.  For the last few years, Dave and I have had offices next to each other.  He loved to share the latest news about politics, music, the Nats, technology, etc.  He especially liked to share his wonderful kids' accomplishments and details about their recent wedding and engagement.  I loved talking to him and will miss him so.  Just Thursday evening, he helped me figure out how to fix my iPhone so that I could get in touch with my family.  I was looking forward to thanking him.  My heart goes out to all of you.

Our hearts are broken over the loss of our Dad.  He was such a big part of our lives and cared about is so deeply. I will miss all the little and big ways he would be so thoughtful toward me. His influence over my love of music, entertainment, politics and social justice will be with me forever. I love you Dad. I know you will keep watch and protection over me and our family. Please keep talking to me about all the things we loved even if you can't text or call. Love, Cathy.

Dave and I were colleagues at FERC.  He was my baseball buddy who always kept me updated on the latest happenings with the Nats. I'll miss him.  My deepest sympathy to the family.

David was very special. For me, as a journalist covering energy, he was one of those rare people who would take the time to patiently explain the details and implications of FERC regulatory policy. More important, he was a kind and generous friend and neighbor, gamely stepping in to walk our big blind dog Luke when Nancy was too busy with other dogs, and making the Tishman home a fun 'camp away from home' for our new dog Stella when we were away. I'm so sorry, Nancy and the rest of the family, that David is no longer with us.

Nancy, Cathy and Tim, we are so sorry that David left us so soon. He was a beautiful example of how to love unconditionally and give 100% to the causes he was passionate about. We all have so many fond and lovely memories of Dave. He will never be forgotten and I feel so blessed to have him in my life. His support of the arts meant the world to me!  We love you all and hold you close in our heart and prayers.

David and I were co-workers and friends at the FERC for more than 30 years.  Our respective offices were next to each other for several years.  We shared many work experiences.  Our respective birthdays are three days apart.  David was always well-informed about what was going on.  I shall miss him.

Dave was a wonderful colleague, neighbor and friend.  Just last week, he was enthusiastically hosting Earth Day events at FERC and following up with promised introductions to collaborators on clean energy and microgrids - very engaged and doing important work.  Dave was smart and dedicated  - using every opportunity to continue learning and to make the world a better place.  He was also a supportive and kind neighbor and friend - always there with a smile and encouraging word for both people and pets.  We love and miss him and are so sorry for your loss, Nancy, David Jr., Cathy, Tim and John (& pets).

David was such a great guy. Wry sense of humor, smart, kind, generous. He worked hard at his legal job and clearly loved music and the Nats, but his sense of family and devotion to Nancy and his three wonderful kids always came first in his life. He'll be missed!
