Diana was born in Los Angeles, California on 3 November 1947 to Annie Jackson Candler & Seben Candler. Diana was an amazing chef. She spent most of her career working as a chef in healthcare facilities. She spent the first 46 years of her life on the west coast in California and the last 30 years on the east coast living in Virginia and Maryland.
Diana was never comfortable saying, “I love you”. But, she expressed love through gift giving and receiving. So, if you ever received a gift from her, that was her saying “I love you”. If you ever gave a gift to her, she took it as you were telling her, “I love you”. Diana enjoyed online shopping and caring for people in need.
Diana’s battle with dementia started in 2016. She was a strong woman and she put up a good fight. Up until August 2023, she was still able to live on her own, drive, cook, and take care of herself. The progression of the disease escalated so fast that by September 2023, she had gone from being fully independent, something she valued greatly, to requiring assistance.
Diana has 4 children, she leaves behind Katherine (Marvin) Hendricks, Andre (Tanya) Harris, & Donta Candler. Her youngest child Shontee Harris preceded her in death in 2018. "Life is but a stopping place. A pause in what is to be. A resting place along the road to sweet eternity. We all have different journeys. Different paths along the way. We all were meant to pause, but never meant to stay. For some the journey is quick. For some the journey is slow. When this journey is over, it is not the end. Our destination is a place far greater than this place. We shall go home and have everlasting peace with our Lord and Savior. "
