Of Arlington, VA, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth N. McCarthy; son Patrick McCarthy, his mother and step-father, Anita and Ronald Starcher; his brother Denis McCarthy, and also many friends and family in the United States, Ireland, and Germany. A Mass will be offered on Friday, November 2, 2012 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1910 North Randolph, Arlington, VA 22207 at 10am. A reception will be held immediately following the service. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made be to a fund that has been established for his son, Patrick: Virginia College Savings Plan, PO Box 759226, Baltimore, MD 21275-9226.
