This photo was taken at Uncle Dwight and my Mama’s apartment when my children and I first arrived in Arlington, VA in February 1982.

Correction on previous memory: my Mama died in June, 1994 not 1974.

We remember Dwight as a man who had a heart for the Lord and always looking for opportunities to share the Good News. For a short while he was involved with POW at Cherrydale Baptist, always looking to minister to our foreign students.

Uncle Dwight was my Mama’s second husband. They had a good life together until she passed in June, 1974. I remember Uncle Dwight as a man of faith, devout and committed to evangelize and spread the gospel. He would give out gospel tracts to strangers that he would meet on the street, at malls and even abroad in his travels. One time he told me that he met a homeless man in Manila and spoke the gospel to him then gave him some money. The homeless man returned part of the money and said he only needed money for food for that day. Uncle Dwight said he learned as much as he taught from the people he shared the gospel.
A sportsman, Uncle Dwight was a fisherman, a good hunter who is accomplished with the bow and arrow and lifted weights as a body builder.
Uncle Dwight loved to travel. He and my Mama traveled to many places in the states, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. I enjoyed traveling with them to the Holy land in the early 80s.
Uncle Dwight’s mission in life was to bring as many people as he can to Christ. My Mama and I joined him on many occasions to minister at the Gospel Mission in Washington,D.C.
Uncle Dwight was happiest when he could help others accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. This is his legacy .❤️
