
Edith was born on September 22, 1931 in Luxembourg to Joseph and Frances (Lazarus) Hertz. She died April 19, 2020 in Arlington, VA.
Edith fled the Nazis with her family in 1939, coming to NYC. She graduated from high school in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan and trained as a radiology technician, a career she pursued all her working life. She traveled extensively, including several trips to Israel with her friend, Beverly Kaplan. Edith lived in New York and cared for her parents until they died. In 2003 Edith moved to Arlington VA to care for her brother Rene' at Culpepper Gardens, and when he passed she stayed there, eventually becoming president of the resident's association.
Edith was a joy to all who knew her with a wealth of stories and a ready laugh. She delighted in her family and was a good friend.
Edith is survived by her nephew Joseph Hertz of Sterling, VA, niece Julie (Hertz) Davidson of Cornelius, NC, and Great-Nephews Ryan & Brandon Hunt of Cornelius, NC, as well as numerous cousins and friends
