Edith Catherine Maguire

Edith Catherine Maguire age 94 of Arlington, VA was called to her heavenly home to be with the Lord on Wednesday January 8, 2025. She got her wish to pass in her sleep in her home peacefully. Family and friends who loved her called her Edie or “Kitty”. She was born on January 24,1930 in Arlington, VA.

Edith is survived by her only child, a son Kenneth Lee Everly (Patricia) of Fredericksburg, VA also her brother Floyd Everly (known as Bubba) and brother William Everly (known as Billy). Preceded in death by her Father Harry L. Everly and Mother Elizabeth Marie Everly and brothers Harry (Junior) Everly, and Roland Everly and sisters Margaret Everly and Betty Nelson. Also survived by two granddaughters Mandy Melody (Kevin) of Kwajalein Islands and Brandy Anderson of Colonial Beach, VA and 6 great grandchildren Kaelie Anderson, Shelby Anderson, Nathan Melody, Michael Melody, Rachel Melody, JP Melody. Survived and loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her niece Donna Nelson helped Edith with her daily wishes and care along with Lori Nelson. Edith knew she could always count and lean on Donna due to the fact that Donna lived so close by all these years. Donna was like a caring daughter to her.

Edith lived roughly 92 years in Arlington County in the Ballston area. She was employed by Clarendon Hotel Court as a caring maid for approximately 30 years. She was known on the job as one who always gave 100% and more. Her rooms were always requested by clients of the hotel for her cleanliness and neatness. She received many awards for her service of employment.

She loved her animals and faithful in feeding the squirrels and birds.

Her kind caring spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Her love for others was even apparent in her final days. She would always end a phone call with God Bless you.

The ladies Of Goodwin Hospice of Arlington VA were amazing and so caring. They became like family to Edith.
