Elsie Diane Benson

Elsie Benson "Diane" was Born on March 25, 1951 in Bethesda, MD. to George E. and Geneva S. Benson. She was welcomed into the family by two older siblings and later joined by two younger siblings in their home in Arlington, Va. Diane graduated from Shenandoah Music Conservatory where she majored in Music Education and Elementary Education. She taught Music in Bath County, Virginia and later in Alexandria, Va. She found her calling working for the Internal Revenue Service. She retired after 31 years of dedicated service. Diane passed away on June 11, 2018 after a brief illness leaving behind her siblings; Betty J. Roberts (Richie) of Raleigh, NC., Shirley L. Matthews of Springfield, MO., Ellot E. Benson (Susan) of Beaumont, CA., and Ronda McLaughlin of Malta, MT., along with 10 beloved nieces and nephews and their children. Among her many friends were Brenda Martin, Betty J. Waldow, Sandy Desch, John Hennan, and Kathy Hart whom she cherished until her passing. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd. Arlington. Va. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Diane's remains will be interred at Greenlawn Cemetery North in Springfield, MO.
