Eunice "Diane" Diana Ruffner

Diane was born on May 5, 1951 in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina to the late Saint Paul and Betty Thrower. Diane was the oldest of two and was raised in Washington, DC but relocated to Arlington, Virginia as a young adult. Diane married Nathaniel Ruffner and raised three lovely daughters.

Diane leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Nathaniel; her daughters, LaTrese Wallace-Yarborough (Raymond Yarborough), Kesha Nelson (Gerry Nelson), and Nakia Ruffner; grandchildren, Dalante Walker, Jerome Nelson, Darius Wallace, Dominique Wallace, and Kierra Nelson; great-grandchildren, Jace Nelson and Jordyn Wallace; brother, Claude “Win” Thrower; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Diane was not only a fiercely loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister... she was a WARRIOR! She courageously battled cancer for ten long years, until the Lord told her it was time to come home. Diane lived every day as if it were her last, and every day she gave God the praise and the glory for it all. Diane will be deeply missed by family and friends who she adored and who adored her.

A memorial service will be held to honor Diane's life on August 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22203.
