Floyd Douglas Birdzell, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on January 3, 2017. He is survived by his wife Theresa; son Douglas; daughters Dorothy and Madelyn; grandson Anthony; and brother Luther. He spent the majority of his career working as an attorney for the FDIC, and was an avid lover of the law throughout his life. His hobbies included building intricate model airplanes, photography, and driving his cherished Corvette, which we often joked of as his fourth child. Mr. Birdzell may be viewed at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, Virgina, on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 2:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The funeral service will be at Saint Ann Roman Catholic Church, 5312 10th Street North in Arlington on Thursday, January 12th at 11 a.m. The burial will take place at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Boulevard in Arlington.
