Uncle George---Although you had numerous adventures, achievements and accolades in your life, I feel that your greatest contribution was your love of family.  We sometimes joked that it took the uncle from the east coast to get all of us Montanans together.  However, your dedication of the annual picnic has meant more to us than anything! It is one of my children's and my most precious memories.  And it really was the only time some years that we saw relatives that only lived hours away! Thank you for making family so important and loving us all.  Thank you for your love and committment to Aunt Ruth and your children and grandchildren. Thank you for the many special times you planned for us.  Now, enjoy your heavenly rewards and being back with Ruth.  Love and hugs, Mary Kay

I wish I could've had the opportunity to have met the Colonel. It would've been great to hear some of his war stories. 

My most heartfelt condolences to everyone in the Ryffel family. To George and Laurie...I would love to hear some memories over a bowl of chili one day.
