ICU nurses were amazed by Greg’s recovery during the weeks that followed, but he sadly passed away on March 12, 2023 at 71 years of age.
Greg is survived by his immediate family, wife Deb, son Adam, and Greg’s sister Rowanne Lane. He was predeceased by his two sisters Karen Meekings and Noreen Vandergrif.
Greg had a long career with the Arlington County Police Department, rising through the ranks to the level of deputy chief of police. Following his retirement, Greg was employed by the Fairfax County Water Authority.
Greg will be deeply missed.

A private wake will be held for Greg on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in the chapel on the grounds of Historic Congressional Cemetery, followed by interment.
