Son to the late Charles Taylor and Bettye Taylor (Milton), Hal is survived by his older sister, Sharon Taylor Chamberlin (Barry), his nephews Taylor (Emily), Milton (Devon), Bradshaw (Allison), Clayton (Carly) Chamberlin.
Hal was a devoted son, who enjoyed spending time with his mother - especially taking her to dinners. He was also a dedicated worker, serving the United States government in various capacities, and ending his career at the Small Business Administration. His commitment to his work was evident in his pursuit of education, earning a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and later an MBA from George Washington University.
Beyond his professional life, Hal had an undying passion for basketball. His love for the game started in high school where he excelled on the court, continuing his pursuits into college. Off the court, he was a devout March Madness enthusiast, never missing a game. Alongside this, Hal had a deep love for live music, often swaying to the tunes of the 19th Street band among others.
A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Hal on September 10, 2023, between 3 - 5 PM at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22203. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks for donations in Hal's memory to the American Heart Association.
