Harry Paul Haldeman (Age 65) Of Fairfax Station, Virginia, passed away on June 13th, 2015, at his home. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Katherine. Devoted father of Lauren (Ben Fortune) and James (Sally), and was predeceased by his son, Ryan. He is also survived by his brother, Cliff (Laurie), and his granddaughter, Ellie Fortune. A visitation will be held, on Sunday, June 28 at Burke United Methodist Church, 6200 Burke Centre Pkwy, Burke, Virginia at 2pm followed by a Celebration of his Life at 3pm. Interment will be private. Paul Haldeman lived a life of radiant kindness, experiencing the world with an active and joyful interest in the myriad wonder that surrounded him. He was an avid enthusiast of trains, baseball, spontaneous adventures, food, and his family -- he passed this exuberance on to everyone he met. It was said that he was "always generous" with his smile, which "lit up the room". This is an understatement; his smile was a symbol of the warm, open, brave trust that he had in the goodness and potential that he saw in all people --he was always striving to help people see these things in themselves as well. This inborn talent transferred brilliantly to his vocation -- he acted as a key communicator and system analyst for several companies in the Washington, D.C. area, including Children's Hospital, SRA, Galaxy Scientific, Marriot, Coopers & Lybrand, as well as Ernst & Young. He was also a lifelong member of his church, contributing to the faith community there in many ways -- through participating in the choir & planning committees, teaching Sunday School & leading youth retreats. He attended faithfully, providing his family with the priceless gift of spirituality and connection.
