When I think of my Uncle Butch I always wish we had spent more time together.  I've probably only seen him and Jean less than 10 times in my life.  But I have fond memories of him and the family reunions.  He was intelligent and had a great sense of humor.  It meant a lot to me that he was supportive and encouraging of my writing.  I always looked up to him.

Howard was known as Butch to most of his family. His mother and my mother were sisters making us first cousins. We spent time together in our teens, but lost any meanfull contact after High School. We both became successful after college in our business endeavors. I know he will be sorely missed by his family. I still have fond memories of our youth. Cousin Bennie (Sonny Boy) Barker


Howard was a wonderful neighbor who always made valuable contributions to our homeowners association.  He will be missed. Our sympathies go out to Jean and his family.
