

Jack dedicated his life to Jesus as a young adult during World War II. Jack has faithfully served the Lord all his life, in the church, the community and with his family and friends.
Jack Frey was Sergeant of the United States Army from 1942-1946. During his service in the Army he met the woman of his dreams, Evelena Delores Warren. They were married on June 1, 1946 in Fayetteville, NC. They moved to Washington D.C. were Jack worked at the Veteran’s Administration in March 1946. He rose steadily with the VA and was transferred as Director of Veterans Administration Records Processing Center in St. Louis, MO in 1972. He was later appointed as the Assistant Director of the St. Louis Regional VA Contact office where he retired from that position in 1975. After retirement he continued his service to the community. He was the first African American to be elected President of the St. Louis County Historical Society. He also was appointed Boundary Commissioner of St. Louis County. He received the NTA award for his service to the schools in Normandy, MO and Lamplighter organization.
He served the church in many capacities. He was a choir member for Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church in Washington D.C. and St. Andrews Episcopal Church in St. Louis, MO. He also served on the vestry for both churches. He was appointed to be an evaluator for the Diocese of the Episcopal Bishops.
He served his family in so many ways. He was the President of the Frey family reunion and also in gathering Frey family genealogy. He had a desire to have relationships with our family. When we would leave for a vacation he would always want to plan a trip in a town that we had family so that he could visit them and be a part of their lives.
Jack leaves to cherish is wife, Evelena W. Frey, his son, Jack Alden Frey, his daughter in-law Sharon Frey, daughter Helena L. McCullough, son –in – law Keary S. McCullough, Grand children: Tashina McCullough, Donnie McCullough, Katie Frey, Jessica Frey, Autumn McCullough, and Kaleb McCullough, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
