

Joseph Wilbourne Creekmore, age 91, a resident of Arlington, Virginia passed away on April 19, 2013. He was a Contract Specialist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture until his retirement, when he worked as a realtor for Better Homes Realty. He honorably served as a Tech Specialist in the U.S. Army during World War II, a part of "the Greatest Generation." He is predeceased by his wife, Louvia Irene Creekmore and daughter, Sharon Blanche Creekmore who are buried at Arlington National Cemetery. He is survived by his brother Ned and wife, Evelyn; his son, Joseph W. Creekmore III and wife, Kerry; two daughters, Patricia C. Welborn and husband, Mell and Karen C. Schroeder; brother, Ned Creekmore; five grandchildren, Burress Welborn and wife, Joann, Joseph W. Creekmore IV, Eric Schroeder, Gretchen Schroeder and Grace Schroeder; two great-grandchildren, Luke and Jack Welborn. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 2-6 pm at Murphy Arlington Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at Our Savior Lutheran Church Arlington, Virginia on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 11:00am. Burial will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
