

Devout Christian, loving husband, and Southern gentleman, passed away in his home at the age of 83 on July 19, 2012, in Falls Church, VA after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rae (Luck) Domazet, and younger sister, Lois Domazet Carr. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie Payne Domazet, close personal family friend, Kenneth Henard, sister, Doris Rae Domazet, four nieces, and several great nieces, a nephew, and cousins.
Ted was born on April 19, 1929, in Alexandria, VA. He was raised in Culpeper, VA, where he graduated from High School. Ted received his civil engineering degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute where he was a member of the "Highty-Tighties" and then enlisted in the Air Force. After his service, he was a contractor on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge project. He continued his career with the Fairfax County Water Authority, faithfully serving the public for over 35 years and rising to the position of Deputy Director prior to retirement. Ted was a long-standing member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Society of American Military Engineers, among others.
Ted was a longtime member of Glencarlyn Road Baptist Church. He served as Chairman of the Deacons; was a Sunday School teacher; and served on the building, strategy, finance, and pastoral search committees. More recently, Ted became a member of First Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA.
Visitation and service will be held at First Baptist Church of Alexandria, located at 2932 King Street, on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the service following at 12:00 p.m. Directly after the funeral, graveside services will be held at the Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper, VA.
