Joseph is survived by his spouse, Angelena C. Le Blanc; his sister, Sandra Fizer; his brother-in-law, Kenny Fizer; three nephews, and a niece. Joseph was born in Norfolk, Virginia. He earned a BA, MA, and PHD in history at the University of Virginia. Joseph was employed as an advanced placement history teacher for Bishop O’Connell High School for 11 years and was an educator for over 50 years. He has acted in community theater productions in the DC area. He played guitar and composed comedy songs for Hexagon and was VP for Charity for Hexagon.
Joseph will be remembered by many of his students, friends, and family in the Arlington, Charlottesville, and Norfolk communities. In lieu of flowers, friends and family can make donations to their favorite charity in Joseph’s name. There will be a private inurnment. No services or viewing will be held.
