JC and I met while we were embarking on our doctoral studies. During the journey we became friends. I believe paths cross for a reason...with purpose. I thank God for the blessing to have met such a beautiful spirit. Our conversations were often deep, but we laughed a lot too. JC often stated I knew what to say when something was troubling her. I valued her perspectives on faith and life in general. I can only say "wow", as to know her is to be in awe. I will forever cherish the memories of JC. What fills my heart even more is the support and love her friends provided during her time of need and transition...Thank You. God answered JC's prayers by laying on our hearts the desire to be by her side, as she did not want to be alone. Thank You So Much! Rest is peace dear friend...I look forward to seeing you again.

God puts people in our lives for a season. I hired her to be my assistant HR director because she was so smart and the connection was instant. Professionally, our HR successes can only be attributed to her leadership, innovation, and desire to see others grow. I enjoyed our lunches together and rich conversations about family and friends. Her zeal for life was contagious! I couldn't keep up with each new exciting chapter of her life. I learned so much from her. I will miss you! So Dr. J put on a pair of those fly shoes you have and dance around heaven happy and pain free!

Dr. Catchings and I met while working at Baltimore City Community College. With her military background and my background in law enforcement, we clicked. She was a “straight shooter”, and I valued and trusted her opinion. Last time I saw her she flashed that amazing smile at me. Going to miss knowing you’re not physically her anymore, but I know we will see you on the other side. Rest in Paradise Sweetheart.

There are very few people that you meet in your life that has an impact as Juanita had. She was a dreamer, an encourager, a leader, and above all a lover. She loved people, she loved life, and she always lit up a room with her big smile and bold authenticity.
Juanita would always tell me "our souls met in a past life" because our friendship came so naturally and it was like we had known each other our whole lives.
We were going to be life long friends, I had no doubt. Juanita understood life, she understood what was important, what wasn't, she had empathy, compassion, intelligence, and wit.
While I am absolutely heartbroken to know that our earthly journey together has ended, I am also filled with immense joy to know that you are free, healthy, and shining even brighter on the other side.
Thank you, Juanita, for always believing in me and all that you taught me, I am forever grateful and can not wait for the day that our souls meet again. Fly high angel ❤️
