June Jessup Batcheller
June 26, 1960 – November 26, 2019
June Jessup Batcheller Vogt was born on June 26th, 1960 and passed away on November 26th, 2019 after a long and brave fight with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Robert Alan Vogt, mother of Audrey Baylies Batcheller, Ashley Marie Vogt, Brittney Vogt Fortner and husband, George, Lindsey Ann Vogt, Robert Paul Vogt and wife, Lindsey, and sister to Julia Jessup Tijerina and husband, Alfredo.
June was born in Fort Ord, CA, but spent most of her life in Arlington where she made wonderful lifelong friends at McKinley Elementary, Swanson Middle, and Yorktown High School. She also graduated with a Bachelors and Masters of Business Administration from Marymount University. She had an extremely successful career in the financial services industry, most recently as a Chief Compliance Officer at E*TRADE Financial.
June had many hobbies over the years, but they all focused on her phenomenal ability to bring people together. She was a cheerleader at Yorktown and very involved in the planning of the class reunions, as she stayed in close contact with so many. June was also always the first to organize food for the players (and happy hour for the parents) at Audrey’s volleyball tournaments. Despite being the daughter of an Army Officer, one of her more recent accolades was “Queen of the Tailgate” in the Class of 1978 plot at Navy football games. June and her family were also Washington Capitals season ticketholders for many years. She felt so lucky to get to root them on to a Stanley Cup victory in 2018, as well as to watch the Washington Nationals win the World Series just a few months ago. June will be missed dearly by so many, but will be with us every time we hit the dance floor at a party or raise a glass of wine to cheers.
The visitation will be December 13, 2019, 5 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA and a celebration of life, “June’s Dance Party”, will be held December 14, 2019, 12 to 3 p.m. at Army Navy Country Club, 1700 Army Navy Dr., Arlington, VA. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation at https://themmrf.org/get-involved/donate-to-the-mmrf/ so that others may continue the fight.

June Jessup Batcheller was a powerful force in her lifetime and she touched more peoples lives than any of us even know. I feel fortunate to have landed in her circle of friends back at Yorktown High School oh so many years ago. June was beautiful, tall, outgoing, and opinionated. Most importantly, she was fun and really enjoyed being involved with her friends at all levels. Beyond the fun and games, she was smart & savvy and generally knew the best option to take when it came to choices and she helped a lot of others along the way.
June's passion for all things was strong- parties, concerts, sports, her career, and everything she tackled. She could be demanding and a bit of a perfectionist. She had a wicked sense of humor and was a tough, but fair critic too. But most of all, she had love and passion and truly cared about others. I know she was a great Mom, because I know Audrey. I know she was a great wife, because I know Bob. I know that she loved all of us and would want us to dance at "June's Dance Party" on Saturday.
Godspeed June. May your soul rest in peace and may your spirit always watch over those who continue to need your guidance and compassion.

So sorry to hear about June's passing. I met her way back when we were interns for Charlie Rose in 1982. Hadn't seen or heard from her since, but when I learned she was gone, I felt that the world had suddenly gotten a little less bright.
I'll always remember her smile, attitude, and awesome sense of humor. She was a joy to work with.
I figured she was headed for some great things. Just wish she would have been able to bless us for a while longer.

I am deeply saddened at the news of June's passing. My heart goes out to the family. I have enjoyed June's Facebook posts and our shared comments over the years, especially her pictures of family and Audrey as she has been growing from a young teen to a lovely young woman. It is obvious that Audrey was her purest delight and she was a very proud mama.
June and I had nice conversations together at our high school reunions, and she was always sweet and kind to me. She will be so incredibly missed. It is overwhelmingly clear that she was loved and respected by so many.
