Lawrence Edward Dronfield

Lawrence Edward Dronfield, age 92, of Arlington, VA passed away peacefully at his home on April 11, 2021. Larry was the son of the late Sampson and Minnie Dronfield of Erie, PA and beloved husband of the late Frances Snyder Dronfield for 42 years. Larry is survived by his stepdaughter, Sue Schantz (Bob), and by his two sons Mark Dronfield (Karin) and Doug Dronfield (Nancy). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Larry will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather and for his great sense of humor. He loved anything related to his children and grandchildren especially family vacations at the Outer Banks, NC. He graduated from Penn State with a degree in electrical engineering and was a lifelong Nittany Lion fan. He was also a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Annandale, an avid fisherman, and softball player. A viewing will be held at Murphy Funeral Home at 1102 W. Broad St, Falls Church, VA on Monday, April 19, 2021 from 6:30–9 pm. Service at 10 am Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Cherrydale Baptist Church at 3910 Lorcom Lane in Arlington, VA. Interment will follow at noon at Fairfax Memorial Park at 4401 Burke Station Rd, Fairfax, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Annandale, Attn: Seeds for the Future Fund, Larry Dronfield. 7610 Newcastle Drive, Annandale, VA 22003. An outreach ministry of the church to the community.
