
When it became clear to her that she was sicker than she had thought and that she would not get better, she made the determination that she did not want to pursue more aggressive treatment that would only prolong her life for a very short time at best.
Lois was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on November 11, 1949. She leaves behind her sister, Lyanne Trumbull; her niece, Christine Trumbull, her grand-niece, Sarah Styer; her grand-nephew, Matthew Styer; and a host of close friends.
Lois was a graduate of Syracuse University, and completed her graduate degree in Speech Therapy at The Catholic University of America. During her college years she developed many close friendships that she maintained throughout her lifetime. She worked as an IT Specialist at the FDIC in Arlington, VA. Lois was an active volunteer directing her personal support to those organizations that provide support and hope to both individuals and animals. She served with the Chaplain Services at Virginia Hospital Center, and was active with Arlington Dogs and served as their treasurer until she fell ill. Her passion and love for animals led her to support numerous rescue and animal rights organizations.
A Remembrance Service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014, from 2-4 pm, at the Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA.
Lois asked that in lieu of flowers that those wishing to remember her may do so by supporting Homeward Trails Animal Rescue or Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC).
