Marc found his calling after graduating from the American University School of International Service. His passion for international affairs culminated in a distinguished 30-year career as a Foreign Service Officer. While serving, he met the love of his life, formed lifelong friendships, became a devoted father and enjoyed living and working across the African continent. Among his many assignments, the role he cherished most was serving as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Ethiopia (1992-1994). It was there that he and his wife adopted three children, leading them to eventually settle down in Arlington,Virginia.
Marc is survived by his beloved wife, Belén; his children Nicholas, Ana and David; his siblings Myra, Cara and Curt; as well as close friends through whom Marc will live on in heartwarming stories and fond memories.
We find comfort in knowing that Marc passed, with his daughter by his side, wearing a tribute to his favorite team. His spirit will live on every time someone says, “Go Blue!”
