Of Arlington, VA, passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, September 10, 2015. She is survived by husband, William Smith, Jr.; brother, Dale Thompson, Jr.; sister, Pamela Thompson; niece, Anne Thompson Mendez; nephews Dale Thompson, III and Morgan Thompson. She is also survived by many extended family and friends. A life member of the Capital Bulldog Club, LTC Thompson loved her country, her family, friends and her bulldogs. It is believed when she passed, that her “bullies” were waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 11:00am at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22203. Interment in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to The National Museum of the United States Army, www.armyhistory.org.
