Megan (Johnson) Kuchinski, died near her home in Arlington, VA, on Thursday, March 21. She was 32. Megan graduated from Woodinville High School in 1999, then left the Seattle area to study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Virginia. She met her husband Adam Kuchinski during their first year at UVA. They graduated together in 2003 and were married in Washington, DC in 2006. Megan worked for Covance Market Access Services in Gaithersburg, MD. While at Covance, she graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Masters in Public Health.
Always the athlete, Megan fought through injury to complete the Marine Corps Marathon, and was very active in several softball leagues. She was a loving wife and devoted friend, and had a natural ability to lift the spirits of everyone in the room, with no limit to the love that she so selflessly gave to all who knew her. Megan, with tireless support from her husband Adam, courageously battled an aggressive form of gastro-esophageal cancer since receiving the diagnosis on June 24. Although the odds were against her, Megan was extraordinarily positive throughout the various treatments and inspired the people she touched during her ordeal.
She is greatly missed and will continue to be treasured for the vibrant life she lived and the multitude of people she inspired. In addition to her husband Adam, Megan is survived by her twin sister Tristen Dawson and husband Simon from Columbia, MD, her niece Madelyn Dawson, and her parents Mike and Janet Johnson from Woodinville, WA. She is also survived by her in-laws John and Donna Kuchinski from Manasquan, NJ, her brother-in-law Greg from Philadelphia, PA, her sister-in-law Lisa Kukoda and husband Matt from Brielle, NJ, and a loving extended family, and many friends.
