Michael Dennis Daly

A lifelong resident of Arlington, Mike lived a life defined by unwavering faith, deep love for his family, and quiet dedication to those around him. He often said he was “the luckiest man in the world” because he had hit the jackpot with his family—a sentiment that everyone who knew him understood to be absolutely true.

Mike shared an extraordinary 67-year marriage with the love of his life, Jeanne. Together they built a home filled with faith, laughter, and unconditional love, creating a legacy that continues through generations.

He was a devoted father to Debbie Besley (Richard), Patty Felix (Peter), Jimmy Daly (Laurie), and John Daly (Rita). His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his seven beloved grandchildren: Jennifer Hughes (Colin), Dan Daly, Cameron LoMonaco (Kyle), Caroline Daly (Jeff Early), Jack Daly, Scott Blair and Lexi Blair. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Gianna Belle LoMonaco and Palmer Hughes, who brought him endless smiles.

Mike’s Catholic faith was the foundation of his life. He trusted in God’s providence, lived with gratitude, and sought to serve others with kindness and humility. His family finds comfort in the promise of the Resurrection and in knowing that he has been welcomed into the loving embrace of the Lord.

Mike dedicated over 40 years of service to Safeway, where his hard work, integrity, and leadership earned him numerous managerial positions. He was respected by colleagues and customers alike for his strong work ethic and genuine care for people.

Mike and Jeanne loved spending time at their waterfront home in St. Mary’s County, where countless days were spent crabbing, fishing, and boating with family and friends. He was also a devoted Washington Redskins fan who faithfully cheered on his beloved team through every season.

Mike will be remembered for his generous heart, steadfast faith, warm smile, and the unwavering love he gave to his family. His life was a beautiful example of what matters most: faith in God, devotion to family, and gratitude for life’s many blessings.

He leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew him. Though his family grieves his passing, they rejoice in the hope that they will one day be reunited with him in eternal life.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mike’s life. Visitation will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22203 on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at At. Ann's Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
