

Michael's life was a tapestry of adventure, dedication, and resilience. Most recently, Michael worked as a Principal Systems Engineer at MITRE, a position he started after successfully running his own company. Over the course of his career, he traveled extensively throughout Africa, Asia and Europe and in war zones, including Afghanistan and Iraq demonstrating remarkable commitment to democratic principles and a commitment to excellence. His professional life was marked by service and perseverance, qualities that also defined his personal journey.
An avid cyclist, Michael found joy in the open road and cherished the time spent at the beach with his family. His love for reading was another testament to his boundless curiosity and zest for life. Despite his long and arduous fight against cancer, Michael remained unfailingly optimistic about a new cure, embodying a spirit of hope and determination that inspired those around him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Minerva Trudo, and three children: Cole, Darsey, and Antonio. He is also mourned by his father, Joseph (Karen) Trudo; his mother, Jeanne Trudo; and his siblings: Christine (Greg) Trudo-Mayo; Steven (Wendy) Trudo; and Peter (Lana) Trudo. Michael will be remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
In accordance with his wishes, private services will be held. Donations in Michael’s memory may be made to Surfers Healing Virginia Beach or Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Care Center.
Michael's enduring spirit and unwavering positivity will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The family wishes to thank Dr. Louis Weiner and all the caregivers at Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Care Center.
