I was just thinking of her and found this obituary. My mother, Pat Maitland-Turner and she were friends and I knew both Tom and Kevin as we we’re close in age.  She was a very nice lady that looked out for other people. I remember that she sent Tom over to help us, can’t even remember for what but it was the thoughtfulness. I later bought my grandmothers house as a adult and we were neighbors for a few years and we talked occasionally and I helped her do her taxes for a couple of years.  God bless her.

Nelli was the daughter of Paul Holder. I knew her from my dad Roger Holder. The last we saw each other was when Helen Caddell my dads sister passed. All of her sisters and her attended the service. Nelli and I spoke quite often on the phone. The sisters spoke of the fish fries they used to have and asked me to come down from New Jersey to visit them. Nellis voice will be missed, when she called she would always announce " Jeff, this is Nelli" Nelli was a sweet lady of old school, she loved her sons always spoke of them when we talked. Im sorry I just read about her passing, I have called a few times but no answer. Our deepest condolences to her family and friends.

Ken and I met Nellie in 1997 when we bought the house next door.  She was a lovely lady .  She would say that "we were the young couple who moved next door and were always cutting trees" but she agreed  that we made many improvements to the yard and to the house.    Tom, Kevin and Nellie were extremely  friendly and helpful to us.  We were sad when she sold the house and moved but she continued to come to the area for visits with Kevin and always called and stopped to visit us. She loved her Christmas cactuses and African violets,  her sun room was full of them, she gave me some and I still have an African Violet from one of the originals.  She will be greatly miss by all, rest in peace dear Nellie and join Tom in Heaven.

This is a photo from Nellie’s 90th birthday. 

 Nellie is and always will be such a wonderful soul. She is so intelligent and had a wonderful mind. She definitely knew her way around Virginia, that is for sure. We have rode all the way to Arlington and down to Waynesboro together. During our time together she would educate me on the different plants we would see though out the day. I will always cherish our times together.

Nellie was a good friend for 17 years. I will miss her greatly...I already do. No one could replace her in my heart or in this world.

Nellie has been a patient of ours for the past 6 years in Winchester. She was not just a patient that came thru the door. She really touched all of our hearts. Very stern yet sweet at the same time. She definitely had a way of making you giggle. We seen her on her 90th birthday, bought a cake and a shirt and sang her happy birthday. Memories will stay with us. Bless her, I will miss her dearly. May she rest in peace.
