Died suddenly on January 11, 2015 of complications from lymphoma. Beloved husband of Beverly Jones, devoted father of Megan Webb (Clayton) and Cara Cox (Caresh Toatley) and proud grandfather of Caroline and Patrick Webb. Norman was born an identical twin in Atlanta, Georgia to Thomas and Evelyn Cox. He is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas, and survived by his sisters, Gayle Webster, Beverly Rogers and Dianne Featherston. Norman was a proud army brat who lived abroad in his younger years, but resided in Arlington, VA most of his life. He graduated from Washington-Lee High School in 1960 and received a B.A. from East Carolina University in 1966. He was a special education teacher at Groveton and Jeb Stuart High School, serving as a football coach at the latter. He worked briefly for IRS and from 1974 through 1996 was a personnel administrator at the FDIC. Norman was well known for his giving spirit and his generous willingness to help others. Among his greatest pleasures were working in his yard, blowing leaves for the neighborhood, listening to opera, and walking the beach in North Carolina (as he put it, "God's country"). A funeral mass will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Arlington at 11:00am on January 15. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be sent to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
