Nyketha Latoya Lyken, 38, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, intelligence, and compassion that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Nyketha was the beloved daughter of Jacqueline McAdam and the late Joseph Lyken. She was a cherished sister to Duane, Dyon, Dwyght, Daison, and Stefan Lyken. She was also cared for during her childhood years by her late grandmother Doreen McAdam, and Great Aunt Irma Alleyne whose love, care and presents played an important role in Nyketha’s early life. Nyketha was a remarkable woman who faced life with courage and determination. Education and professional achievement were important parts of Nyketha’s life.
She was a proud graduate of the University of Richmond and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Arts, as well as a paralegal certification, also training and certification in computer coding. Her intelligence, dedication, and technical abilities led her to a career with Excella as an Engagement Manager where she made meaningful contributions.
Beyond her impressive accomplishments Nyketha will be remembered most for the person she was - strong, determined, caring, and resilient. Nyketha’s life was one of perseverance and purpose. Her professional accomplishments and unwavering spirit are a testament to the extraordinary woman she was.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving mother, Jacqueline McAdam; her great aunt Irma Alleyne; her brothers Duane, Dyon, Dwyght, Daison and Stefan Lyken: along with extended family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives she touched.
Though her time with us was far too short, Nyketha’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and in the lives of those she inspired.
