Steve was my good friend for over 40 years.  I knew him first at work, when I cameto the Martin Luther King,Jr  Memorial Library in the 70s, and discovered  the fine poetry collection he had built.  He was a good writer himself, and I am lucky enough
to have some of his poems.  He loved having lunch at the restaurants down by the river and we spent very good  hours there talking and talking.  He was a loving man with a good wit.

Steve was a kind, smart, compassionate and greatly respected and loved presence in our lives. He will be missed so much by both my sister and me.

Uncle Steve was a fabulous human being, kind, funny and oh so smart!  I will miss him dearly, especially that connection that he and I shared through our mutual love for my father.  He died peacefully at home, just the way that he wanted it and for that I am grateful.  Kathryn Rigney (niece)
