Paula Mohlmann Wipf

Paula was born and raised in Washington, DC. In the summer of 1956 Paula and her best friend Shirley became Christians and Paula dedicated the rest of her life to her savior, Jesus Christ.

She graduated from Columbia Bible College in South Carolina, now called Columbia International University. Paula met and married Don Wipf at Grace Baptist Church in Washington DC, and their love story was one for the ages. Their relationship grew in Christ and was a loving example for all.

Paula worked for the Department of Justice until the birth of her first child. She was so well respected at this job that her boss, a U.S. Marshall, lent her money for the down payment on her and Don’s first home. Later in life she ran a home daycare that always had a waiting list to get in. After that she worked as an assistant at a pre-school for many years.

Don and Paula made their home in Arlington, VA., and were blessed with three wonderful children; Donna, married to Brett Starr; David, married to Mao Mao Zhang; and Laura married to Justin Brown. They also have two precious granddaughters, Harper and Finley.

When their children were young, the family spent many weekends and vacations having all sorts of adventures camping in their pop-up trailer. Later in life she and Don continued traveling around the United States with friends and family, and eventually making it to Israel where they further connected with their faith in Jesus Christ.

In March 2022, shortly before their 56th wedding anniversary Don passed away unexpectedly, changing Paula’s life forever. The family would never be the same. She missed him dearly, but she continued on.

Those who knew Paula know of her kind and generous spirit. She was always happy to help anyone in need and her Christian values were evident in all aspects of her life. Paula was also well known for her baking: bread, cookies, scones, cakes, and beyond. Almost anyone who came in contact was gifted with her special treats.

Paula’s mark on the lives of paths she’s crossed will not be forgotten. She will truly be missed, but we are thankful that she is at peace.
