

Randall “Randy” Phillips, son of Robert and Donna Phillips, passed away peacefully in the presence of his family. Known for his integrity and kindness, he leaves a legacy of devotion to his loved ones and a lifetime of service.
Randy earned dual degrees from the University of Utah (1987) and his Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho (1992). A respected attorney, he operated the Phillips Law Office for over 20 years before joining the Salt Lake Legal Defender’s Association in 2022. He distinguished himself as a committed advocate for justice.
An avid outdoorsman, Randy loved skiing, fishing, and traveling. He traveled the world with infectious energy, using his humor and storytelling to turn every family trip into a lasting memory.
A devoted family man, Randy found his greatest joy in life’s simple moments. He is deeply missed by Janice, Alexander, Sam, Elizabeth, Zach, Andy, Christine, Ashby, Nataliya, Mark, Susie, Jamie, Cody, Taylee, Sage, Cindy, Bill, and a wide circle of friends and colleagues.
For nearly twelve years, Randy ended every day by telling his wife, Janice: “I loved you yesterday; I love you still; I always have, and I always will.” Today, those words belong to her, whispered back to him for all eternity.
