

Randolph Alan Nesseler, 65, of Arlington, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Memorial Day, May 30, 2016 at Cherrydale H & R Center in Arlington. Randy was born on January 16, 1951 in Homestead, Florida. He predeceased by parents, Commander Richard A. Nesseler, and Irene F. Nesseler. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Jan A. and Steve D. Antonacci of Arlington, niece Tiffany C. Mathias and family of Reston, nephew Jeffrey S. Antonacci and family of Arlington, nephew Michael R. Antonacci of Arlington and niece Crystal Mascall and family of Marshall, and ten great-nephews and great-nieces.
Randy graduated from Wakefield High School in 1968, delighting his classmates with his acting skills. He was in an original comedy act, “The Nobodies in Particular” and in skits, plays and musicals. He went on to pursue studies at Virginia Commonwealth University and received his bachelors from Washington Bible College. He served as a submariner in the United States Navy. He traveled as a missionary to South America and Europe. He re-enacted Dwight L. Moody on the streets of Edinburgh, Scotland. He worked in independent movies, the last was The Rise of the Fellowship, with his niece’s husband, Scott Mathias, which can be found on Amazon. Randy was an actor, artist and adventurer, gifted in so many ways. He brought laughter to friends and family both on stage and off. He was a fan of kitty cats, Superman, Carl Barks, Boris Karloff, Ray Harryhausen, a true sci-fi enthusiast, and a lover of Jesus Christ.
Chapel service on Quantico base is at 12:30pm on Wednesday, June 29th, followed by burial with honors at the Quantico National Cemetery. Reception to follow at 2:30pm at the National Museum of the Marine Corps.
