On Wednesday, October 26, 2016 of Arlington, VA. Beloved wife of 47 years to the late Lt. Col Ralph Damon Messer (2011). She is survived by her step-son R. Stephen Messer, nieces, Leslie Pontz, Kim Pontz McDonnell, nephew, Mark Pontz, as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by step-son, Greg Messer and step-daughter, Lynne Messer and her brother Frederick Demuth Pontz III. Friends may visit the Murphy Funeral Home of Arlington, 4510 Wilson Blvd., from 2 pm to 4 pm Monday, November 14, 2016. Funeral services will be held at a later date at the Ft. Myer Old Post Chapel with interment to follow at Arlington National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the local ASPCA, Humane Society/Humane League, or local animal shelter where the friend or family member lives.
