SSGT. Robert L. Block, Jr. from East Hardwick, passed away at Fort Jackson, Columbia S.C. on Aug. 31, 2015. He was born in LaPlata, Maryland on Sept. 17, 1976 and moved to Vermont in 1987 with his family. Robert graduated from Hazen Union High School in 1994 and entered the Army after high school, serving 21 years. He served in MO, GA, TX, N.Y., S.C., Germany, Boznia, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Robert is survived by his wife Sindy and son Justin in Germany, his parents Robert and Joan of East Hardwick, brothers Daniel, Jamie and his wife Stephanie and his half brother Matt and family in Colorado.
